Overview
This role works in an outsourcing environment and supports daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliation of payroll and taxes processed across all US tax jurisdictions. You will collect and analyze data to resolve tax discrepancies and related balances.
Responsibilities
- Research and resolve customer tax out-of-balance items in a timely manner.
- Perform mathematical calculations to determine how data will reconcile to the best solutions.
- Analyze tax/payroll data at the employer and employee levels.
- Identify discrepancies, suggest conclusions, and support decision-making.
- Ensure appropriate actions are taken in compliance with tax authority requirements.
- Communicate causes of tax discrepancies to customers and document findings.
Qualifications
Required
- 2–3 years of related Payroll and/or tax experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of Federal, State and Local tax rules and requirements.
- Ability to use internal data analytics to research and resolve tax discrepancies.
- Ability to respond quickly, independently, and make sound decisions.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a high demand, fast paced environment.
Preferred
- Associate degree or higher preferred (or 3-years’ experience equivalent).
- Payroll outsourcing and/or Shared Services experience preferred.
