Overview
This role involves supervising and mentoring insurance tax team members, supporting their professional and technical development, and assisting in managing client relationships and business development efforts. The position requires serving as a technical resource for insurance tax matters, conducting tax research, and overseeing compliance for life, non-life, and captive insurance clients.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor insurance tax team members to support their professional and technical growth.
- Assist in managing client relationships and contribute to business development.
- Help build new client relationships and support practice growth initiatives.
- Serve as a technical resource for insurance tax matters with guidance from senior leaders.
- Conduct tax research and collaborate with insurance clients on tax-related issues.
- Oversee compliance for life, non-life, and captive insurance clients, including supervising preparation and review of federal and state corporate insurance income tax returns.
- Support strategies for insurance-focused tax planning and regulatory compliance.
- Stay current on trends and developments within the insurance industry and share knowledge with the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Active CPA license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, ideally in public accounting.
- Prior experience in Corporation Taxation and Insurance.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and manage multiple projects within a team environment.
- Strong client service and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base salary range: $106,000 to $160,000. Actual salary depends on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, licensure, certifications, business needs, and relevant employment laws.
- Eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on individual and firm performance.
