Overview
A fast-growing team is seeking candidates with Global Information Reporting (GIR) experience to provide tax co-sourcing and outsourcing services to global Private Equity Funds. This role involves consulting with clients as if acting as their in-house tax department, collaborating virtually and/or onsite with both internal team members and client personnel.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Managing Director within the Global Information Reporting Services practice, contributing to leadership in international tax transparency and transforming Private Equity processes
- Develop, nurture, and manage client relationships by providing timely and appropriate communication and services tailored to client needs
- Act as a trusted personal and business advisor to clients
- Provide advisory services to financial institutions on FATCA, CRS, Chapter 3 (including 1042 & 8804 reporting and withholding), and Withholding Foreign Partnerships
- Direct multiple engagements encompassing consulting, compliance, and tax planning services
- Collaborate with client service teams to design, communicate, and implement innovative tax planning strategies
- Guide and manage IRS and state audits
- Participate in new business development activities such as prospecting, networking, and representing the organization at industry events
- Design and deliver technical training on individual tax topics
- Recruit, supervise, train, develop, and motivate junior team members
- Promote a positive team environment and support management decisions
- Contribute to internal tax department management through committee membership and leadership roles
- Perform additional responsibilities as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in public accounting or a related field
- At least 10 years of supervisory experience
- Active CPA or equivalent certification
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize multiple assignments, and work efficiently
- Proficient use of relevant technology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
- Demonstrated high level of business integrity, client service, and leadership
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive tax planning and consulting experience with expertise in FATCA, CRS, Chapter 3 of the Internal Revenue Code, Withholding Foreign Partnerships, Qualified Intermediaries, 871m, or other withholding and reporting regimes
- Market-leading technical knowledge of 1042, 8804, FATCA & CRS returns, and tax form validation (W-8, W-9, CRS Self-Certifications)
- Proven success providing consultative services to global financial services companies, including banking and brokerage clients
- Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to client and team inquiries
- Track record of successful new business development
- Excellent analytical, supervisory, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience and interest in mentoring junior team members
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Advanced degree such as Master of Tax, JD, LLM, accounting degree, or MBA
- Previous experience in public accounting or law firms
