Overview

This role is part of the Tax Operations team and focuses on ensuring accurate, compliant tax reporting across the full lifecycle of investor payments. Responsibilities include receiving and validating individual tax documents, identifying payments that require additional withholding or reporting instructions, and interpreting data from multiple sources to resolve discrepancies prior to payment.

Throughout the year, the role validates deal-level tax reporting data to support accurate generation of year-end tax forms for investors. Because communications involved are confidential and sensitive, discretion is essential.

In addition to transactional processing, this position contributes to process improvement initiatives and participates in departmental planning, with a focus on exceeding service level agreements (SLAs) and delivering an accurate, positive experience for payees. The role also requires flexibility to manage client-specific fulfillment requests and track unique requirements as they arise.

Location

Hybrid in Denver, CO, or fully remote within the Continental United States.

You must be located within the Mountain (MST) or Central (CST) time zones, or have the ability to work MST or CST business hours.

If selected candidate lives within a 20-mile radius of downtown Denver office:

  • Classified as hybrid
  • Beginning September 8, 2026: one day per week in the office is expected
  • Beginning February 1, 2027: two days per week in the office is expected

If selected candidate lives outside a 20-mile radius of the Denver office:

  • Classified as fully remote
  • In-person onsite visits to Denver headquarters are required on average three times per year

Compensation: $68k to $77k per year, depending on experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Receive, validate, and route individual tax documents appropriately
  • Identify shareholder payments that require additional withholding or reporting instruction prior to payment to mitigate risk
  • Validate deal-level tax reporting data throughout the year to support accurate generation of year-end tax forms
  • Interpret data from multiple sources to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance customer experience, exceed SLAs, and improve departmental efficiency
  • Support unique requirements based on individual client fulfillment requests and track items as needed
  • Participate in planning long- and short-term objectives related to departmental functions
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 2-5 years of related business experience in operations or production services, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple transactions at one time
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Discretion is essential due to broadly distributed confidential, sensitive communications to sophisticated investors
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently with a high level of autonomy and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Physical Requirements / Special Demands

  • Standard business hours, with longer hours and possibly weekends in December, January & February of each year
  • Office environment is collaborative with people working in close proximity; noise and distractions are expected
  • Seated most of the time using a computer, keyboard, and mouse
  • If fully remote: in-person visits to Denver headquarters required on average three times per year
