Overview
This role is a Tax Senior Manager position on the Trust & Estate Tax team within the National Tax practice.
The employer is a hybrid organization. This position is considered remote, meaning job duties do not require performance within proximity of an office location. Remote employees may be required to be present at an office with scheduled notice for client work, team meetings, or trainings.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret wills and trust agreements for tax-relevant provisions
- Review complex gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns
- Review fiduciary accountings for trusts and estates
- Provide wealth transfer tax planning and tax consulting to ultra high net worth clients
- Research and consult on estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax-related issues, including:
- State trust residency and taxation
- Grantor trust toggling
- GST tax implications
- Pre- and post-mortem tax optimization
- Help generate opportunities within existing clients, and pursue new clients
- Manage all aspects of client relationships
- Manage a team of professionals within the group to complete engagements from start to finish
Requirements
- Active CPA license in at least one State
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience with trusts and estates, as well as high net worth clients
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a public accounting firm
- Strong tax research skills
- Ability to lead, manage, and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment
- Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills

Compensation & Benefits
In Illinois, the salary range for a National Tax Senior Manager is $160,000 to $230,000.
