Overview

A tax supervisor position is available within the tax department, offering remote or hybrid work options. This role requires a strong background in tax and public accounting, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals and various tax entities.

Responsibilities

  • Review multistate and federal tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, joint ventures, and non-corporate entities, including combined state tax returns and compliance with tax regulations
  • Manage and develop client relationships related to income tax and financial planning
  • Collaborate with tax partners and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities
  • Communicate regularly with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, and lead change efforts
  • Consult with clients to recommend business and process improvements and act as a business advisor
  • Supervise and oversee multiple engagements involving partnership, trusts, estate, gift, and individual taxation
  • Prepare year-end projections and conduct research on various tax issues
  • Mentor senior associates and staff, providing guidance on complex tax matters

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of tax and public accounting experience
  • Broad understanding of tax law with specialized knowledge in areas such as high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, LLCs, trusts, pass-through taxation, non-profit experience, estate and gift tax, investment advisory, and financial planning
  • Ability to prepare working trial balances and year-end adjusting entries
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and CCH Axcess
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills to foster client and staff relationships

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
  • CPA certification required
