Overview
This is a fully remote role.
The organization operates in the education technology sector, providing flexible, tech-enabled learning solutions that support students and educators. This position ensures financial accuracy and compliance by leading key technical accounting and financial reporting initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex and high-risk month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Research and document accounting treatments for complex transactions, including revenue recognition, business combinations, and lease accounting
- Implement new accounting standards and ensure alignment with US GAAP
- Lead interim and annual audits, coordinating cross-functional support and serving as the main contact for external auditors
- Prepare lender reporting packages and internal financial reports
- Develop financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures for annual reporting
- Mentor team members on US GAAP compliance and internal control best practices
- Collaborate with various teams to resolve accounting challenges and support continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required)
- CPA designation held or in progress (preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of financial accounting principles and US GAAP
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, including public accounting preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial management systems
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
- Experience preparing financial statements and disclosures
- Proven mentorship skills
- Demonstrated audit coordination experience
- Flexibility to take on evolving responsibilities
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $125,000—$140,000 USD
- Compensation determined based on relevant experience, skills, and other factors
