Overview
The organization is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Technical Accounting team within the CFO Advisory practice.
This is a hybrid firm role. While the position is remote (it does not require job duties be performed within proximity of an office location), remote employees may be required to be present at an office with scheduled notice for client work, team meetings, or trainings.
Responsibilities
- Oversee general accounting operations by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling accounts payable and receivable
- Reconcile account balances and bank statements while maintaining the general ledger
- Prepare month-end closes and year-end closes
- Help direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in accounting tasks; suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present results
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
- Prepare financial statements and produce budgets; verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivables
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns; direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Relevant certification (CMA or CPA) is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting and finance functions and processes
- In-depth understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), including financial statement preparation and analysis
- Proven ability to drive and lead corporate accounting processes such as cash management, AR/AP, month-end close, payroll, and benefits
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact professionally at all levels
- Strong, hands-on drive to ensure deliverables are produced on time with high quality
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project)
- Ability to work flexible hours in support of the business
- SAP experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits
In California, the salary range for an Advisory Senior Associate is $90,000 to $145,000. Salary is one component of the total rewards package, which includes a discretionary performance bonus, generous paid time off, expanded and inclusive parental benefits, and access to learning and development platforms.
Location
Remote position with potential scheduled in-office presence for client work, team meetings, or trainings. Most professionals are located within a commutable distance to an office.
