Overview
This Trading Analyst position is an early-career role supporting trading desks and investment teams by analyzing market data, monitoring trade execution, and assisting with day-to-day trading operations. The role combines quantitative analysis, market awareness, and real-time decision support within fast-paced trading environments. Collaboration with traders, portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and risk management teams is a key aspect.
Responsibilities
- Monitor real-time market data, pricing movements, and trading activity
- Support trade execution ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely settlement
- Analyze trading performance, execution quality, and transaction costs
- Build and maintain analytical tools, dashboards, and models to provide trading insights
- Conduct market, asset-class, and liquidity analysis
- Assist with position monitoring, profit and loss tracking, and risk exposure reporting
- Identify inefficiencies, anomalies, and opportunities in market behavior
- Prepare daily, weekly, and ad-hoc trading reports for senior traders and management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and trading mechanics
- Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or VBA is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interest in markets, trading strategies, and real-time problem-solving
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or coursework in trading, market microstructure, or quantitative analysis (preferred but not required)
Compensation & Employment Type
- Estimated total annual compensation: $140,000 – $185,000 (varies by employer)
- Employment type: Full-Time (other types such as Part-Time, Contract, Temporary, Internship, Casual may be available depending on employer)
