Overview

This role involves managing the systems and reporting components of the Treasury department, with a focus on supporting cash forecasting activities. The Manager, Treasury Systems is responsible for overseeing the systems used to manage and report cash balances, account movements, and maintain connectivity with banking partners. This position reports to the Assistant Treasurer and includes providing training, work direction, and coaching to staff on Treasury systems. Collaboration with IT and external partners is essential to manage system functionality and connections.

Responsibilities

  • Lead staff in supporting Treasury systems to ensure smooth settlement of trades and wires and oversight of the daily cash position.
  • Manage project activities within the department, including coordinating external service needs and internal Treasury projects.
  • Serve as the primary interface with the Finance Projects Portfolio Group.
  • Support staff in preparing daily, weekly, and yearly cash forecasts using quantitative data and Treasury technology; review variances and implement forecast improvements.
  • Lead staff in the design, modification, and utilization of the Treasury Workstation.
  • Oversee preparation of analyses to support Treasury and Finance decision-making related to liquidity, debt, capital, and banking relationships; report findings to senior leadership.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of Standard Operating Procedures and Internal Control narratives related to Treasury systems.
  • Act as backup to other supervisors and managers within Treasury.
  • Support cash management and forecasting efforts, interacting with various management levels.
  • Assist in the design, modification, and utilization of Treasury systems such as SAP TMS, SAP LRP, and bank portals.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging data and accountability.

Requirements

  • Experience working in Financial Services or Insurance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, IT Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in finance or treasury.
  • Significant experience with automated Treasury Workstations and General Ledger systems; experience with SAP TMS and LRP is a plus.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong team-building skills with the ability to recruit, retain, coach, and mentor staff.
  • Ability to bridge business needs and technology solutions effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to set goals and implement strategic vision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to produce flowcharts and process depictions.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and use complex data to improve performance and optimize results.
  • Strong writing skills for documentation and presentations.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Location

The role is based in one of the organization's hub offices located in Houston, TX; Jersey City, NJ; or Woodland Hills, CA, and follows a hybrid working policy combining office and remote work. Full remote candidates outside these areas will also be considered.
