Overview
The organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its HCM Managed Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate processing and reconciliation of payroll for UKG Pro clients. You will provide timely and accurate financial information while supporting day-to-day payroll operations in a multi-state environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform timely and accurate processing, auditing, and related activities for client payroll, including special projects and quarter and year end audits; conduct basic analysis and research related to payroll processing
- Assist the Team Lead and Manager in reconciling all inputs and outputs of payroll processing and ensuring all requirements are met
- Build trusted relationships with client contacts by delivering exceptional client service
- Identify areas of client dissatisfaction and escalate to the Team Lead and/or Payroll Manager
- Maintain awareness of client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and execute to meet SLA requirements
- Develop and maintain awareness of SOC 1 controls; ensure compliance at each task performed
- Set up and execute new payroll cycles, including any manual HR or Pay Data Entry
- Conduct pre-calculation audits by running and analyzing reports and making necessary corrections based on findings
- Run variance reports and review payroll data accuracy, including individual transaction inputs
- Perform payroll balancing by running reports, investigating variances, and determining appropriate actions
- Process prior period adjustments, including manual checks, stop payments, and reversals
- Assist clients in preparation for quarter/year-end processing
- Assist clients with annual enrollment, including testing and performing applicable end dating activities
Requirements
- Experience with automated multi-corporation, multi-state payroll processing, including in-depth knowledge of payroll tax and accounting principles plus wage and hour laws
- Experience working with UKG
- Strong verbal and written client service skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Proficiency using PC and MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel
- Highly motivated and team oriented, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
- Human Resources and Payroll experience; Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred
- Associate's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting (or equivalent in education and experience)
