Overview

The organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its HCM Managed Services team. In this role, you will support accurate processing and reconciliation of UKG Pro clients’ payroll, providing timely and accurate financial information while assisting with day-to-day payroll operations. This position involves multi-state payroll processing, managing multiple service requirements, and working in a dynamic environment to deliver exceptional service and support client satisfaction and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely and accurate processing, audit, and related payroll processes for clients, including special projects and quarter and year end audits; performs basic analysis and research related to payroll processing
  • Assist the Team Lead and Manager in reconciling all inputs and outputs of payroll processing and ensuring all requirements are met
  • Build and maintain relationships with client contacts by providing exceptional client service
  • Identify areas of client dissatisfaction and escalate to the Team Lead and/or Payroll Manager
  • Maintain awareness of client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and execute to meet requirements
  • Develop and maintain awareness of SOC 1 controls and support compliance for each task performed
  • Set up and execute new payroll cycles, including any manual HR or Pay Data Entry
  • Perform pre-calculation audits by running and analyzing reports and making necessary corrections
  • Run variance reports and review the accuracy of payroll data along with individual transaction input
  • Perform payroll balancing by running reports, investigating variances, and determining actions to take
  • Process prior period adjustments, including manual checks, stop payments, and reversals
  • Assist clients in preparation for quarter/year-end processing
  • Assist clients with annual enrollment, including testing and applicable end dating activities

Requirements / Skills

  • Experience working with automated multi-corporation, multi-state payroll processing, with in-depth knowledge of payroll tax and accounting principles plus wage and hour laws
  • Experience working with UKG
  • Strong verbal and written client services skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines
  • Proficient in PC use with MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Highly motivated and team oriented; ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Human Resource and Payroll experience; Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred
  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting (or equivalent in education and experience)
