Overview

The organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its HCM Managed Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurate processing and reconciliation of UKG Pro client payroll within the Managed Services Team. You will provide timely and accurate financial information while supporting day-to-day payroll operations in a fast-moving, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely and accurate processing, audit, and related processes for clients, including special projects and quarter and year-end audits; performs basic analysis and research related to payroll processing
  • Assist the Team Lead and Manager in reconciling all inputs and outputs of payroll processing and ensuring all requirements are met
  • Build trusted relationships with client contacts by providing exceptional client service
  • Identify areas of client dissatisfaction and escalate to the Team Lead and/or Payroll Manager
  • Maintain awareness of client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and execute to meet their requirements
  • Develop and maintain awareness of SOC 1 controls and ensure compliance for each task performed
  • Handle setup and execution of new payroll cycles, including any manual HR or Pay Data Entry
  • Perform pre-calculation audits by running and analyzing reports and making necessary corrections based on findings
  • Run variance reports and review accuracy of payroll data, including individual transaction input
  • Perform payroll balancing by running reports, investigating variances, and determining the action to take on variances
  • Process prior period adjustments, including manual checks, stop payments, and reversals
  • Assist clients in preparation for quarter/year-end processing
  • Assist clients with annual enrollment, including testing and applicable end-dating activities

Requirements

  • Experience working with automated multi-corporation, multi-state payroll processing, with in-depth knowledge of payroll tax and accounting principles plus wage and hour laws
  • Experience working with UKG
  • Strong verbal and written client service skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines
  • Proficient in PC use and MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Highly motivated and team-oriented; ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Human Resource and Payroll experience with a Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred
  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting (or equivalent in education and experience)
