Overview

The organization is seeking a VC Analyst Intern to research the market and write clear, publishable memos based on the findings.

This role focuses on producing written investment analysis. Work is organized as memos that include a thesis, the reasoning behind it, and clearly communicated uncertainty. Memos and related writing may be published externally, and some content is adapted for two distinct audiences: family offices and pre-seed founders.

Responsibilities

  • Company memos: Assess why a company is interesting, determine which investors belong in the round, and outline what would need to be true for the investment to fail.
  • Sector research: Identify what is heating up, what is over-owned, and provide supporting evidence.
  • Investor research: Research who is actively investing, what they invest in, at what stage, and what they are known for.
  • Published work: Contribute to the published version of research, including pieces written for family offices and early-stage founders that are shared from founders’ accounts.
  • Collaborate closely: Work directly with the two co-founders, and with the Head of Brand once that role is onboarded.

Requirements

  • Follow the market closely and can form well-reasoned opinions about current rounds and participants.
  • Experience writing and researching in this space, with the ability to turn work into memos or articles.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail—specifically, the ability to avoid errors in fund names, round sizes, and attribution.
  • Daily comfort using AI as a tool, including knowing where it should not be used in the work, and applying judgment and taste to maintain quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • None listed.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Paid internship with an opportunity to grow into a full-time seat.
  • Remote and asynchronous work.

Location

  • Remote and async (no additional location requirements provided).
