Overview
This role manages tax accounting and compliance activities for a portfolio of foreign subsidiaries and investments, including financial reporting, deferred taxes, and controlled foreign corporation reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of ten tax professionals responsible for financial reporting and tax compliance for foreign subsidiaries and investments.
- Prepare and oversee FAS 109 reporting for foreign subsidiaries and domestic holding companies, including:
- Tax basis balance sheets
- Outside basis computations
- Monitor and reconcile effective tax rate for controlled foreign corporations.
- Manage the calculation and review of deferred taxes related to items of Other Comprehensive Income, including reconciliation of related effective tax rates.
- Manage the review of APB 23 assertions.
- Manage and review Subpart F calculations for controlled foreign corporations.
- Monitor and review Earnings & Profits and foreign tax credit pools.
- Manage and review foreign source income calculations and Section 861 interest expense allocations.
- Assist with remediation of a material weakness in controls over income tax accounting, including development of long-term control procedures.
