Accountant

Overview

The organization is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join the finance team. This role supports financial operations by managing accounting records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing insights that help guide operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, and send accurate invoices, credit memos, and billing statements to clients
• Record incoming payments via checks, credit cards, ACH, and wire transfers, and match them to customer accounts
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers, verify transaction accuracy, and resolve discrepancies
• Monitor aging reports, follow up on overdue accounts, and manage collections professionally
• Research and resolve billing inquiries and disputes from clients or internal teams
• Maintain entries in the general ledger and reconcile with sub-ledgers
• Prepare internal monthly financial statements and related reports
• Analyze and summarize balance sheet and expense accounts for management review
• Collaborate with program management, operations, and purchasing departments to ensure accurate financial data
• Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, including cost, sales, income, bookings, and backlog
• Understand and analyze material costs, labor costs, overheads, inventory, and accounts receivable status

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Demonstrated discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
