Accountant - Remote

Overview

This is a Senior Level Accounting role with remote work supporting MediGold and the Fresno Central Valley Health Plan. Work hours are for the Pacific Time Zone.

In alignment with the organization’s Mission, Core Values, and Vision, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate financial information for assigned areas of the general ledger and financial statements. The information supports fiscal planning and reporting, helps drive strategic goal and objective attainment, and provides current financial statements regarding Medical Center performance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete and accurate journal entries by the closing date on a monthly basis for the Medical Center and Medical Foundation.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements, statistics, and the financial statement narrative by required deadlines for reporting to the Board of Trustees and corporate office.
• Reconcile, analyze, and adjust general ledger accounts as necessary; maintain accurate detailed support for general ledger account balances.
• As assigned, support annual budget activities, including the capital budget and portions of the Medical Center’s and Medical Foundation’s operating budgets, including budget analysis and the budget package.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a concentration in accounting (required).
• Minimum of four years of accounting experience (required).
• Knowledge of computer accounting systems and spreadsheets.
• Ability to communicate financial information in writing and orally.
• Hospital/healthcare industry accounting practices (preferred).
• Ability to perform duties and complete projects with minimal supervision (required).
