Accountant

Overview

An organization focused on healthcare transformation is seeking an Accountant to support invoicing, revenue, accounts receivable, and expense reimbursement. This role is part of the revenue accounting team and involves assisting with the billing process, managing project tasks, billing and collections, expense reimbursements, and month-end close responsibilities.

Remote work is allowed, with a preference for candidates located in Chicago.

Responsibilities

• Enter data within financial systems, including creating new projects and billing schedules to ensure accurate invoicing and revenue recognition.
• Assist with billing preparation and distribution of monthly invoices.
• Communicate with colleagues and clients to support accounts receivable collections and resolve billing inquiries.
• Create and maintain employee profiles in the expense reporting system, updating records to ensure accurate approver workflows.
• Assist employees with timecard issues and make necessary changes in financial systems.
• Support additional tasks and special projects as requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a corporate finance environment.
• Experience with billing and/or accounts receivable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Detail-oriented, task-driven, and eager to learn new skills.
• Organized and able to manage tasks in a timely manner.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact professionally and collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and journal entries.
• Experience with Workday and Salesforce is a plus.
• Preference for candidates located in Chicago.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
• Eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
