Accounting Manager - Fully Remote

Overview

A boutique CPA and advisory firm serving small and mid-sized businesses nationwide is seeking a Remote Accounting Manager. This fully remote position is open to candidates anywhere in the U.S. The role offers a base salary range of $100,000 to $135,000 depending on experience, plus performance-based bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for assigned clients, including payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and depreciation schedules
• Review financial statements and monthly/quarterly reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, and GAAP compliance
• Manage payroll tax filings and client payroll setup
• Supervise and mentor accountants and bookkeepers, providing direction and quality review of their work
• Address accounting and compliance issues, including responses to IRS and state notices
• Deliver clear reporting and actionable insights to clients to support tax strategy and business planning
• Recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy, transparency, and client experience
• Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and reliable service

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of public accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or review role
• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, payroll, and compliance
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required
• Experience with Gusto is strongly preferred
• CPA or EA certification is a strong plus but not required
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple client relationships
• Proven ability to lead teams remotely and meet deadlines

Compensation & Benefits
