Audit Senior- Denver or Colorado Springs

Overview

A well-established boutique CPA firm in Colorado is seeking an Audit Senior to join their team. The firm primarily serves closely held businesses, nonprofits, and healthcare organizations. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with small business owners and executive leadership, providing audit services that go beyond traditional compliance to include consulting on various business matters.

Responsibilities

• Perform audit, review, or compilation procedures for clients
• Conduct effective risk and internal control assessments and audit planning
• Manage all phases of engagements including planning, fieldwork, financial statement and report preparation, and delivery
• Review staff work, prepare high-risk audit sections, and draft financial statements
• Provide financial and business analysis post-fieldwork to improve client controls and procedures
• Collect and analyze client information to solve problems and meet deadlines
• Train and delegate tasks to staff based on availability and experience
• Conduct fieldwork at client locations and for remote clients
• Meet assigned deadlines or budgets and communicate proactively regarding progress

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
• Minimum of 2+ years of accounting firm audit experience
• CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification
• Knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards
• Excellent project management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Detail oriented

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $75,000 - $100,000 per year
