Billing Specialist I

Overview

This role involves supporting billing operations including file imports, state reporting, client invoicing, account setups and changes, audits, and report creation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit accurate and timely invoices to clients
• Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve billing discrepancies
• Communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries and payment status
• Maintain accurate records of billing and collection activities
• Assist with month-end closing and reporting
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely billing
• Set up new accounts for new business
• Modify accounts for existing business
• Audit accounts to verify correct setup and changes
• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets to track client services and activity
• Maintain Access databases for tracking client services and activity
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in billing and collections
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Work Environment

• Remote position
• Requires reliable internet connection via cable broadband or fiber optic with minimum speeds of 100 Mbps download and 25 Mbps upload
