Capacity - Accounting Supervisor

Overview

This role involves leading the day-to-day accounting operations of a high-growth SaaS company focused on AI-powered support automation. The Accounting Supervisor will own key accounting processes, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong controls across cash, prepaid assets, payables, and commissions. The position includes direct management of two accountants and requires both technical expertise and leadership skills. This is a remote work opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Participate actively in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
• Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries
• Review and approve monthly sales commission calculations, ensuring alignment with commission plans and accounting policies
• Record commission-related accruals and ensure proper expense recognition
• Perform daily and monthly cash management tasks such as bank reconciliations and cash forecasting
• Oversee bank account administration from setup through closure
• Process accounts payable including vendor maintenance, approval workflows, and payment runs; ensure timely payments and resolve discrepancies
• Manage fixed asset accounting including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, impairments, and periodic reconciliations
• Review capital expenditure requests for appropriate accounting treatment
• Manage personal property tax filing process
• Take ownership of special projects and ad hoc financial analyses

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation is a plus
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in SaaS or technology sectors
• Strong hands-on knowledge of GAAP
• Proven experience in accounts payable, cash management, and fixed asset accounting
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Highly detail-oriented with strong ownership and accountability
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Clear and effective communication skills in a hybrid or remote work setting
• Process improvement mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing accounting teams
• Familiarity with commission accounting in a SaaS environment

• Base salary range: $90,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and location
