Director of FP&A

Overview

The organization is seeking a Director of FP&A to serve as a strategic architect and financial heartbeat for the business. This role translates high-level goals into actionable, data-driven plans and supports leadership with analysis, risk identification, and increased rigor in investment decisions. In addition to managing budgeting, forecasting, and board-level reporting, the position drives process improvements, team development, and the integration of AI-enabled analytics.

Responsibilities

• Own budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting for the assigned area.
• Lead investment evaluation and prioritization for assigned areas; improve the rigor of business cases supporting proposed spend.
• Identify risks and opportunities; partner with the VP, FP&A on liquidity forecasting, cash flow planning, and covenant compliance.
• Define KPIs and the reporting structure for the area.
• Own the EBITDA expansion tracker and improve its accuracy, speed, and analytical depth.
• Partner with business leaders to challenge assumptions, shape decisions, and drive accountability for results.
• Own board and sponsor reporting for the area; support audit readiness and ensure integrity of underlying data.
• Implement finance tools, automation, and process improvements.
• Lead people development for managers and analysts; elevate analytical rigor and communication standards.
• Own planning infrastructure, reporting standards, and finance data quality to ensure scalable planning and decision-making.
• Drive cross-functional execution aligned to financial targets.
• Drive adoption of AI-enabled planning, reporting, and analytical capabilities; establish standards for responsible and effective use.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leaders through financial insight, scenario analysis, and resource allocation recommendations.
• Translate organizational objectives into actionable operating plans and measurable financial targets.

Requirements

• B.A. or B.S. in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• Ten to fifteen years of experience in finance, including several years in FP&A leadership, with prior team leadership and board or sponsor exposure.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with EPM and BI platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or CPA.
• Experience within a private equity-backed organization.
• Experience in home care or multi-site healthcare services.
• Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning.
• Experience using AI-enabled productivity, reporting, or analytical tools.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel approximately up to 30% of the time.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 15–20 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to use standard office equipment such as a personal computer, laptop, telephone, and photocopy machine.
