Overview
A remote consulting/contract opportunity is available for a Financial Advisor with CFA or CFP credentials to serve as an AI Trainer focused on everyday personal finance. This role involves reviewing real-world client scenarios and AI-generated financial guidance to improve AI-assisted financial planning tools aimed at mainstream American households.
Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate advisory scenarios covering budgeting, emergency funds, debt management, retirement planning, and investment decisions for typical middle-income families.
- Assess AI recommendations for suitability, clarity, compliance, and practical application for W-2 earners and mainstream clients.
- Document advisor-client interactions including goal prioritization, tradeoff discussions, and decision-making processes.
- Detail common decision rules, rules of thumb, and benchmarks used in practice (e.g., cash reserve targets, debt payoff sequencing, retirement savings rates).
- Provide clear, plain-language written feedback to improve AI explanations, suggested next steps, and client communications.
- Identify and flag compliance or risk concerns, emphasizing fiduciary responsibility and appropriate referrals to CPAs, attorneys, or insurance professionals.
- Contribute to developing workflows and processes that reflect best practices in everyday personal finance advising.
Requirements
- Several years of client-facing experience delivering holistic financial planning to mainstream households in roles such as Financial Advisor, Wealth Advisor, or Personal Financial Consultant.
- Expertise in budgeting, cash flow analysis, debt management, retirement savings strategies, college planning, and basic risk management including insurance needs analysis.
- CFP® certification strongly preferred; candidates who have passed the CFP exam with substantial relevant experience are also considered. CFA, ChFC, or similar credentials with strong mainstream client experience are acceptable.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial topics for non-expert audiences.
- Demonstrated commitment to fiduciary standards, compliance, and high-integrity client service.
- Experience mentoring others, developing workflows, or standardizing planning processes.
- Ability to work asynchronously and independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in roles combining financial planning and ongoing coaching, such as workplace financial consultant or advisor at national firms.
- Background in designing or improving standardized planning processes or digital advisory journeys.
- Familiarity with personal finance applications, digital advice platforms, or AI-driven tools.
- Strong interest in innovation within the financial advisory space.
