Overview

This role is for a Financial Analyst with the organization. The position is Remote – United States and Full Time.

Salary: $70,000–$78,000 per year

The role involves organizing financial information into clear views of actual performance, expected results, and the factors driving differences between plans and outcomes. Accuracy and clear communication are essential throughout the work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform variance analysis that goes beyond stating whether results are higher or lower; when information allows, identify operational or financial drivers behind movements.
  • Help determine whether variances appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
  • Support tasks such as updating forecasts, reviewing actual results against a budget, preparing management reports, and testing how changes in assumptions could affect expected outcomes.
  • Organize inputs, check calculations, and summarize the most meaningful drivers.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain drivers behind financial changes.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Comfort presenting alternative scenarios, recognizing that forecasting involves uncertainty and that assumptions should be visible rather than hidden inside calculations.
  • Strong self-management and dependable communication due to the remote nature of the role, including organizing work, responding to reasonable update requests, and maintaining clear visibility of responsibilities and handoffs.
