Overview
A leading provider of early childhood education is seeking a Financial Analyst, FP&A, to join their Finance team based in Westfield, NJ. This role supports financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making during a period of organizational growth and expansion.
Responsibilities
- Support the annual operating and capital budget process, including data collection, financial modeling, and consolidation across multiple locations and functions
- Assist in updating and maintaining the organization’s 5-year financial plan aligned with strategic goals and private equity sponsor expectations
- Develop and maintain pro forma financial models to evaluate new school openings, acquisitions, expansions, pricing strategies, and staffing scenarios
- Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to support investment decisions, pricing strategies, and capacity planning
- Support short-term and long-term cash flow forecasting, including variance analysis against plans and forecasts
- Participate in the month-end close process by preparing variance analyses comparing actuals, budgets, and forecasts
- Prepare and present recurring board deck materials, including financial results, KPIs, variance explanations, and forward-looking projections
- Develop monthly management reporting packages and perform ad-hoc financial analyses as needed
- Enhance FP&A processes, financial models, and reporting tools to support organizational scalability and data accuracy
- Assist senior leadership with special projects and strategic initiatives aligned with organizational priorities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, consulting, or a similar analytical role
- Strong financial modeling skills and advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience in multi-site, service-based, or private equity-backed environments preferred
- Knowledge of AI software platforms such as Claude is a plus
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting
- Residency in NJ, NY, CT, or PA required
