Overview

This role involves producing dependable financial analysis to support planning and informed decision-making. You will maintain reports, compare actual results with expectations, and help communicate key performance drivers.

The position includes both routine reporting and forward-looking analysis—covering regular financial cycles as well as scenario comparisons, variance investigations, and connecting financial results to the operating activity behind them.

Responsibilities

  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Compare actual results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods; explain meaningful variances.
  • Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparisons, and scenario analysis.
  • Perform variance analysis beyond identifying whether a number is higher or lower; where information allows, identify operational/financial drivers and explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing analysis.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Organized documentation habits with an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Use good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent: investigate the source, document limitations, and avoid presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.
