Financial Analyst

Overview

This role is for a Financial Analyst supporting both routine reporting and forward-looking analysis. The position combines spreadsheet-based work with careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends, helping stakeholders understand what changed and why it matters.

• Salary: $66,000-$74,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
• Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
• Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
• Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
• When possible, identify operational or financial drivers behind variance movements and explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
• Improve efficiency and strengthen documentation as planning cycles and recurring reports become familiar.

Requirements

• Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
• Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
• Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
