Financial Analyst

Overview

This entry-level Financial Analyst role supports recurring financial reporting and helps answer questions related to revenue, expenses, budgets, forecasts, and operating performance. Work will often move between financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions within the same week.

To succeed, calculations must be checked, assumptions clearly documented, and conclusions communicated in a way that supports decisions.

Responsibilities

• Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers
• Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls
• Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies
• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results
• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review

Requirements

• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles
• Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information
• Ability to learn company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes
• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules
