Overview

This full-time entry-level Financial Analyst position supports recurring financial reporting and helps answer questions about revenue, expenses, budgets, forecasts, and operating performance.

  • Location: Remote - United States
  • Compensation: $66,000-$74,000 per year

In many analyses, work begins with differences between plan and actual performance. You will determine which accounts or operating factors contributed to the movement, verify underlying information, and communicate results with appropriate context.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods and explain meaningful variances.

Variance analysis should go beyond stating that a number is higher or lower. Where the information allows, you will identify operational or financial drivers behind the movement and explain whether the difference appears temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
