Overview

This full-time, remote position (United States) supports financial reporting and analysis. The role focuses on organizing financial information into clear views of actual performance, expected results, and the factors driving differences between plans and outcomes. Accuracy and clear communication are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Support variance analysis by identifying operational or financial drivers behind movements and explaining whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
  • Present assumptions visibly and discuss alternative scenarios when a single estimate could create a false sense of precision.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Clear written communication; ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
  • Good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent, including investigating the source, documenting limitations, and avoiding presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with steady follow-through and organized communication.
