Overview

This role involves supporting financial analysis focused on careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends. You will help stakeholders understand what changed and why it may matter.

  • Job Title: Financial Analyst
  • Location: Remote — United States
  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Salary: $68,000–$76,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.

What You’ll Need

  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain drivers behind a financial change.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.

Additional Expectations

  • Variance analysis should go beyond stating whether a number is higher or lower; where information allows, identify operational or financial drivers behind the movement and explain whether the difference appears temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
  • Use good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent: investigate the source, document the limitation, and avoid presenting an uncertain result as more precise than it is.
  • Work remotely from within the United States and collaborate through common digital workplace tools, maintaining professional communication, responsible time management, and consistent ownership of assigned work from initial request through completion.
