Financial Controller

Overview

The organization is seeking a Financial Controller responsible for managing the numbers across multiple countries, ensuring reliable month-end close, clear reporting, and controls that hold up in an audit. This role coordinates accounting work with outside support and partners with the managing partner on forecasting and budgeting.

The position is remote, anywhere in the United States, full-time and permanent, and reports to the managing partner.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and review the work of the outside bookkeeper
• Prepare monthly financial statements and a profit report by engagement
• Run the cash forecast and the annual budget with the managing partner
• Set and maintain approval rules for payments and expenses
• Coordinate tax filings and the annual review with the CPA firm
• Keep the chart of accounts and accounting policies up to date

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• At least four years in accounting, including responsibility for month-end close
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite or Sage Intacct
• Experience preparing financial statements under U.S. GAAP

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA license (bonus)
• Experience at a consulting or professional services firm (bonus)
• Experience with entities or clients in more than one country (bonus)
