Overview
The organization is seeking a Financial Systems Lead to own the financial-systems strategy and execution across its network of companies. This is an individual contributor role focused on strategy, design, and hands-on implementation.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing ERP solutions, evaluating financial-systems tools and platforms, advising leadership on technology investments, and ensuring each company has the systems and processes to manage its own finances effectively.
About two-thirds of the network uses QuickBooks Online. Several companies use NetSuite, and others use industry-specific platforms. The role requires strategic thinking across the full financial-systems landscape, not just a single platform.
Responsibilities

Financial-Systems Strategy & Platform Selection
- Advise leadership on which financial platforms are right for which companies.
- Make recommendations on QuickBooks Online vs. NetSuite vs. industry-specific ERPs.
- Develop a long-term vision for standardization across the network.
- Evaluate new tools and technologies as opportunities arise.
-
Implementation Leadership & Design
- Partner with implementation teams and company finance teams to design and execute ERP transitions.
- Recommend whether solutions should use configuration vs. customization vs. process change.
- Ensure implementations deliver real business value and enable companies to operate independently.
-
Financial-Systems Standards & Governance
- Establish best practices and standards for financial systems across the network.
- Define standardized approaches for common scenarios such as multi-subsidiary accounting, intercompany transactions, reporting structures, and tax compliance.
- Document approaches so they scale across the organization.
-
Vendor & Partner Collaboration
- Collaborate with implementation consultants and technology vendors.
- Evaluate recommendations and proposals; challenge over-engineered or unnecessary solutions.
- Support leadership with technical assessment of partners and vendors.
-
Problem-Solving & Technical Leadership
- Serve as the escalation point when companies face financial-systems challenges.
- Diagnose issues, coordinate with partners/vendors to find solutions, and make recommendations.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting as needed.
Requirements
- 7–12 years of experience in ERP implementations, financial-systems leadership, enterprise accounting, or related fields.
- Deep hands-on knowledge of NetSuite and practical experience with other financial-systems tools.
- Strong judgment about financial-systems architecture, including the ability to evaluate trade-offs between platforms, vendors, and approaches.
- Experience evaluating and advising on technology vendors and solutions; ability to assess proposal quality and identify over-engineering.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and in growing organizations.
- Clear communication across audiences, including finance teams, implementation partners, technology leaders, and business executives.
- Willingness to be hands-on as an individual contributor, including troubleshooting and reviewing implementation details.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading ERP implementations or modernization initiatives for organizations with multiple subsidiaries or complex financial needs.
- Experience as a financial-systems consultant, solution architect, or in-house finance technology leader.
- Experience evaluating and managing multiple financial-systems platforms and tools.
- Background in financial operations, corporate accounting, or finance technology.
- Hands-on expertise in NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar cloud platforms.
