A private fundraising and alumni relations organization affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a Gift Processing Analyst to join their Finance team. The Gift Processing Analyst ensures that gifts and commitments are received and processed according to donor intent, organizational policies, and industry standards. The role also involves providing exceptional customer service to donors, staff, and university partners.
Responsibilities
- Collect and interpret gift transaction data, ensuring accurate entry into the gift management system in alignment with donor intent and industry standards.
- Utilize various banking, credit card processing, and fundraising systems to capture donor information, reconcile transactions, and deposit funds.
- Maintain knowledge of CASE standards and IRS guidelines related to charitable gift handling.
- Create and update constituent records in the CRM system, including contact information, communication preferences, and demographic data following established procedures.
- Address gift-related customer service inquiries from donors, staff, and campus partners via help desk software, phone, and email.
- Produce gift-related communications using email, Microsoft Word mail merge functions, and editing skills.
- Contribute to team effectiveness by sharing knowledge and proactively identifying process improvements.
- Assist in developing process documentation and training materials.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in business operations, customer service, or data management roles.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and/or information systems.
- Experience with customer or constituent relationship management (CRM) software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or some college education in accounting or business systems.
- Strong task management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising or gift processing.
- Proficiency with mail merge functions.
- Moderate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office; mail merge experience preferred.
- Experience with Blackbaud CRM, Raiser’s Edge, or other fundraising software.
- Ability to learn database query techniques.
