Overview

The Investment Analyst will support the Director, Investments in producing all investment-related deliverables. This includes researching new investment ideas, strategic and tactical asset allocation, and day-to-day portfolio management. The role reports directly to the Director, Investments and does not have supervisory responsibilities. It involves significant collaboration with other members of the Investments department, various internal functional areas, and external asset managers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and evaluating investment strategies, incorporating asset modeling, reporting, and analysis to ensure alignment with asset-liability management (ALM), earnings, capital, and investment guidelines.
  • Support senior investment team members in evaluating data used for asset modeling, portfolio optimization, and trade program processes.
  • Coordinate, automate, and manage consolidated reporting for the investment portfolio.
  • Communicate investment directives and requirements to external asset managers in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Liaise with Treasury, Middle Office, and Investment Accounting to ensure trade activity is accurately reflected in downstream systems.
  • Improve operational efficiency of cash management processes.
  • Manage investment data processes, automate existing workflows, and integrate various systems.
  • Detect and correct data errors from existing databases.
  • Assist in calculating CECL allowances for impairments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Actuarial and Finance FP&A to communicate investment activity for actuarial modeling and corporate planning.
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, investments, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of investment-related experience.
  • Expertise in analytic systems linkage and report automation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Access/database, SQL, VBA, Bloomberg, and FactSet or similar platforms.
  • CFA and/or ASA designation preferred.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, BlackRock Aladdin, and Clearwater is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Minimal travel required (less than 10%).
