Overview

This role involves serving as a Certified Investment Risk & Diligence Analyst within a private capital ecosystem that supports fund managers, investors, sponsors, and operators across private markets. Analysts operate as independent contractors and engage in pre-investment risk and diligence analysis on live transactions.

Responsibilities

Depending on certification approvals, responsibilities include:

  • Identifying key investment risks and downside exposures
  • Conducting sensitivity, scenario, and stress testing
  • Validating assumptions and modeling downside cases
  • Developing risk matrices and mitigation frameworks
  • Performing Quality of Earnings (QoE) analysis
  • Reviewing revenue durability and margin sustainability
  • Assessing cash flow and working capital risks
  • Validating historical performance
  • Analyzing market and competitive risks
  • Reviewing customer, supplier, and concentration risks
  • Assessing operational scalability and execution risks
  • Benchmarking KPIs and analyzing variances
  • Preparing risk-focused diligence sections for investment memos
  • Summarizing red flags and diligence findings
  • Supporting investment committee presentations and decision materials

Analysts may only perform work in categories for which they have received approval, which is earned through assessment performance and demonstrated analytical rigor.

Certification Tiers and Compensation

  • Senior Investment Risk & Diligence Analyst

    • Rating Score: 90–100
    • Pay: $150–200/hour
    • Typical Background: Former private equity, credit, investment banking, transaction advisory, risk consulting, or senior strategy professionals with 5+ years of investment risk or diligence experience.
  • Lead Investment Risk & Diligence Analyst

    • Rating Score: 80–89
    • Pay: $100–150/hour
    • Typical Background: Finance professionals with 3–5 years of experience in investment analysis, diligence execution, or downside risk assessment.
  • Investment Risk & Diligence Analyst / Associate

    • Rating Score: 60–79
    • Pay: $50–100/hour
    • Typical Background: Entry to mid-level analysts with strong analytical skills and exposure to financial, commercial, or operational diligence.

Hourly rates are based on Analyst Rating Score, credentials, and approvals.

Analyst Rating Score

Each analyst receives a 0–100 Analyst Rating Score that determines:

  • Visibility to investors and capital allocators
  • Approved risk and diligence work categories
  • Recommended hourly rates
  • Eligibility for higher-impact, higher-complexity transactions

How to Start

  • Complete the Analyst Certification Assessment or approved training
  • Receive category-specific approvals (Risk Analysis, Due Diligence, Financial Review)
  • Get verified on the platform
  • Begin earning immediately through hourly projects and live deal engagements

Certification & Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must meet at least one of the following:

  • Score ≥70% in at least one category of the Analyst Certification Assessment
  • Complete financial or risk & diligence training
  • Hold an active professional credential such as CFA, CPA, Series 7, 63, 79, or equivalent

Compensation & Deal Terms

  • Analysts are independent contractors, not employees
  • Hourly rates depend on Rating Score and approval level
  • Analysts may earn up to 10% of the first $100,000 in transaction fees
  • Maximum deal-based earning: $2,500 per transaction
  • Payments are issued only after successful deal completion and fee collection
  • Approvals may be revoked for quality, rigor, or compliance issues
