Overview
A leading organization in the Business Services sector is seeking a Lead Risk Specialist/Analyst to provide governance, compliance, and operational risk management guidance. This role involves partnering with leadership, compliance teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex risk issues into actionable recommendations. The position supports responsible execution, improved decision-making, and sustainable growth within a Business Services environment.
Location: Remote (US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $107,200 – $160,800 annually
Responsibilities
- Independently underwrite lease and loan transactions for healthcare customers
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow, payer mix, reimbursement trends, debt obligations, and credit history
- Assess industry-specific risk factors such as reimbursement dependence, regulatory exposure, and patient volume trends
- Evaluate guarantors, ownership structures, and management strength
- Prepare clear, well-supported credit memoranda including risk ratings and recommendations
- Structure healthcare finance transactions to mitigate risk through pricing and collateral
- Provide ongoing credit oversight for an assigned healthcare portfolio
- Ensure underwriting and portfolio management comply with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field, or High School diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience
- 6+ years of progressive experience in credit analysis or underwriting, preferably in healthcare finance, commercial lending, or equipment leasing
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Legal, Capital Markets, Asset Management, and Operations teams
- Ability to independently manage complex healthcare credits and exercise sound risk judgment
- Strong skills in financial statement analysis and cash flow evaluation
- Experience underwriting lease and loan structures, including collateralized transactions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Proficiency with financial analysis tools such as Excel
- Familiarity with risk assessment software
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Understanding of medical equipment leasing
- Experience with SQL databases for financial data management and analysis
- Familiarity with financial modeling software (e.g., SAS, MATLAB) used in credit risk evaluation
- Experience with healthcare-specific analytics platforms (e.g., Health Catalyst, Tableau) for financial performance and reimbursement trend analysis
- Knowledge of risk management software (e.g., FICO, RiskWatch) to support risk assessment processes
