Overview
This role involves managing the administration and oversight of assigned non-qualified retirement plans. The NQ Plan Analyst serves as a key point of coordination between plan sponsors, participants, operational teams, and relationship management. The position requires exercising judgment in managing plan provisions, ensuring plan integrity, mitigating risk, and making operational decisions that impact client outcomes and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Implement, track, monitor, and maintain client non-qualified benefit plan accounts, fund investments, and distributions.
- Interpret workflows, apply best practices, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Provide technical expertise and operational support to clients and internal business partners.
- Evaluate and resolve business and operational issues, determining root causes and appropriate resolution strategies.
- Manage escalated client and participant issues, balancing risk, compliance, and client impact.
- Own operational strategy and execution for assigned plans, prioritizing work and resolving conflicts.
- Serve as the initial escalation point for participant inquiries through the call center, responding within standard turnaround times.
- Support Relationship Managers and Client Service Managers in daily client service activities, including direct client correspondence.
- Facilitate daily transactional activities with Trustees and trading desks, coordinating asset transactions, fund swaps, and trust activities.
- Coordinate with Enrollment teams to ensure accurate participant setup and election management pre-enrollment.
- Handle post-enrollment processes including auditing elections, client reporting, and data loading.
- Research and resolve data issues to ensure data completeness.
- Act as Product Owner for Payroll and Census tools, managing updates and troubleshooting.
- Provide data and reporting outputs to internal teams at defined workflow points.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related role within the retirement services sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
- Ability to work accurately and consistently in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Strong written communication skills for reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Advanced mathematical skills with experience using spreadsheet and accounting database software.
- Familiarity with McCamish recordkeeping system and participant data research via data extract files.
- Experience with non-qualified deferred compensation plan structures and compliance with 409A, 457(b), and 457(f) regulations.
Additional Information
- For virtual remote positions, an uninterrupted workspace and family care during business hours are required.
- Internet speed must be 25 Mbps or higher for individual use; higher speeds are necessary if multiple users share the connection.
- Call center roles require equipment to be hardwired to the internet router or located near the router.
