Overview
This role supports payment optimization opportunities for merchants. Responsibilities include leading data-driven discussions on payment optimization strategies, building optimization narratives/tools, and partnering with Sales and Customer Success to help merchants achieve long-term success.
Responsibilities
- Lead discussions with existing and prospective merchants, and provide tools and training to help the Sales team lead merchant/prospect discussions.
- Serve as an internal and merchant-facing expert on payment optimization strategies.
- Gather and build on payments expertise to create optimization narratives/tools supported by rigorous analysis.
- Use existing tools to deploy sophisticated optimization playbooks and analyses across the customer portfolio.
- Synthesize and relay customer feedback and findings to inform the product roadmap.
- Provide feedback on tools and playbooks to continuously improve self-serve offerings.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in payments or operations at a leading technology company, or consultancy in the payments industry.
- Deep expertise in card network costs at the acquirer level.
- Deep expertise in interchange and scheme fees at the merchant level.
- Understanding of e-commerce payments, cards-based payments processing, and optimization strategies.
- Understanding of card network rules and regulations, local payment methods, and the regulatory environment (PSD2/PSD3).
- Proven ability to build collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment.
- Proven ability to be a self-starter capable of driving business results without significant supervision.
- Experience presenting directly to merchants.
- Ability to serve as a subject matter expert providing internal and customer-facing advisory in the payments domain.
- Experience developing optimization playbooks and staying updated on industry best practices and innovations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong data processing, organizational, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL, dashboard building, modeling, or reporting.
- Experience presenting to senior business leaders.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual US base salary range: $172,200 - $258,400.
- For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (OTE) range, meaning it includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
- This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed during the interview process based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
- Applicants interested in this role and not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
- Additional benefits may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
Location
Hybrid work is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from an office).
In-office expectations
- Office-assigned employees spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users.
Remote work expectations
- A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of the company’s offices.
- Employees are welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, but are expected to regularly work from home rather than from an office.
- Relocation to a remote location is not covered.
