Payroll Specialist

Overview

This role involves managing payroll services for small and mid-sized employers, primarily in the U.S. and abroad. The position is remote and reports to the Payroll Services Manager. The focus is on delivering accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining high client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Learn and become proficient in client payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Rippling, Paylocity, and SalesForce CRM.
• Manage the entire payroll process for assigned clients, aiming for quality of service ratings of 9 or higher on client surveys.
• Accurately process payroll administration tasks including prorating pay, calculating final pay, handling multi-state tax withholding, garnishments, and responding to report requests.
• Process commissions, bonuses, stock compensation, and expense reimbursements.
• Assist with Workers Compensation, 401k, and financial audits as needed.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills, including vlookup and pivot tables.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client contacts and colleagues based on trust, respect, and a shared goal of excellent results.

Requirements

• Enjoy working with numbers and managing payroll under pressure.
• Experience with multi-client payrolls and payroll technologies.
• Commitment to quality work and a strong desire to excel.
• College degree preferred but not required.
• Payroll accounting experience is a plus.
• FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
