Overview
A national pharmacy team consisting of over 200 professionals including pharmacists, client service representatives, actuaries, analysts, data engineers, developers, and care team coordinators is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Financial Analyst. This team is organized into three specialized groups: Pharmacy Consulting and Analytics, Auditing, and Copay Maximization.
The role focuses on delivering financial product and service support related to pharmacy benefits, including RFP/procurement projects, renewals, market-check analysis, and financial analytics and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Analyze client pharmacy spend and cost drivers using proprietary financial analytic tools and Excel
- Develop methodologies, analytics, and outcome assessments utilizing outputs from specialized pharmacy systems
- Manage all financial aspects of internal RFP/procurement and market-check processes, including data gathering, financial evaluation of PBM RFP responses, use of online procurement tools, and preparation of summary reports and presentations
- Support PBM contract reviews and negotiations through financial modeling and contract language review
- Assist with client presentations and reporting by evaluating utilization, trends, and key findings within pharmacy benefits
- Manage, mentor, and train a team of financial analysts
- Conduct peer reviews of RFP evaluations
- Oversee project timelines within the financial team to ensure timely completion
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve systems and process efficiencies
- Train new employees on financial projects and evaluations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related analytical discipline
- 2-4 years of experience in pharmacy benefit analytic consulting
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of both pharmacy and medical data
- Experience with Tableau or similar business intelligence tools
- Familiarity with MS Access or relational databases
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $109,400 - $175,000 annually, with actual pay dependent on factors such as location, education, knowledge, skills, and experience
