Overview

This Pricing Analyst role serves as a centralized resource for intermodal costing and pricing decisions. The position establishes, maintains, and analyzes pricing, and provides recommendations to Sales and Operations to support volume and revenue growth for the Intermodal business line. The role reports to the Director Intermodal Pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intermodal pricing across the spectrum, including spot rate requests and formal RFPs.
  • Manage pricing processes from receipt through submission, coordinating with Operations and Sales throughout.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure freight is routed as quoted and in the most profitable manner possible through continuous template management.
  • Support intermodal growth by educating Sales on the mode and offering new modal alternatives to OTR.
  • Maintain railroad and drayage vendor pricing to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc pricing analysis and reporting for Management and Sales.
  • Engage with Operations to understand current market conditions and help formulate pricing levels.
  • Work with Billing and AR to resolve missing rates and expirations.
  • Analyze historical and market data to identify opportunities to increase margins, improve the carrier base, and reduce cost while growing business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Finance or Business preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel; ability to manage complex data and summarize results. Knowledge of MS Access is a plus.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify cost elements within complex RFPs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail; ability to work as a team player.
  • Innovative mindset; uses creativity and good judgment to develop solutions and resolve issues.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $53,024.40 - $70,699.20 (based on the national average for the position).
  • Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus targeted at 3%.
  • Starting pay is determined based on applicants’ qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location.
