Overview
This role is part of the Pricing Team, which develops customer savings strategies and supports profitability for prospective accounts. You will collect, organize, and use information from a variety of sources to analyze expected costs and revenues for potential business relationships.
The position requires quickly building expertise in the waste & recycling brokering industry. Success depends on critical thinking, efficient communication, creative problem-solving, and managing a high volume of concurrent accounts through disciplined multitasking and prioritization.
Responsibilities
Core Pricing Analysis & Strategy (~60%)
- Conduct detailed financial and operational analyses of vendor-customer relationships to identify cost-savings opportunities and drive prospective account profitability.
- Produce accurate cost and revenue projections by reviewing available customer, market, and industry data.
- Use the organization’s products and services to design optimized waste and recycling management strategies for customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve service efficiency, recycling rates, and profitability for both customers and the organization.
- Execute required pricing and financial analyses using and building financial models in spreadsheet software such as Excel and Googlesheets.
Cross-Functional Support & Communication (~20%)
- Apply daily principles of accountability, creative thinking, attention to detail, adaptability, and collaboration.
- Communicate proactively with Sales to minimize downtime, increase sales velocity, and support creation of closable, revenue-generating opportunities.
- Partner with Operations and Marketplace teams to design strategies that balance customer savings with company profitability.
- Build internal and external networking skills to support day-to-day task execution and efficient information flow.
Vendor & Market Engagement (~10%)
- Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors to support negotiation of material management agreements.
- Monitor and synthesize key market and industry trends, and share updated information with the team to maintain pricing quality and efficiency.
Data Integrity & Process Support (~10%)
- Support market data integrity by researching, monitoring, and updating current industry data.
- Generate quarterly reporting for Sales leadership with insights and recommendations to increase revenue growth.
- Assist with basic process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects to enhance operational efficiency and support broader business goals.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of experience in an analytical role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make prudent, timely decisions and act with sound judgment despite ambiguity or incomplete information.
- Strong sense of accountability, metrics focus, and ownership of business results and quality.
- Ability to grasp tactical details and remain effective amid constant change.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clearly articulating findings and collaborating across functions.
- Proven ability to organize and manage multiple projects and prioritize conflicting assignments with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Excel or similar analytical platforms.
- Learning agility and high curiosity with the ability to rapidly absorb new skills and complex industry knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Data Analysis, Supply Chain or similar field of study.
- An associate degree and/or relevant work experience can be substituted.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $50,000 – $53,000 annually (Exempt / Full-Time)
- Bonus: 5%
- Location: 100% Remote (U.S. Based)
- Working Hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (EST)
