Overview

This role involves serving as a Pricing Analyst responsible for enhancing profitability through optimized pricing strategies and margin realization for business customers. The position requires advanced Excel and office automation skills to perform detailed sales and item analysis, maintain ERP databases, and collaborate with regional and branch managers to resolve pricing challenges. Strong analytical abilities, interpersonal skills, and innovative process improvement approaches are essential. The role is remote and requires effective communication across management levels to support organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive sales and item analysis using advanced Excel functions to optimize pricing and margins.
  • Maintain and update ERP databases to support pricing and costing functions, leveraging office automation to improve data integrity and streamline workflows.
  • Collaborate with regional and branch managers to address pricing challenges and develop optimal pricing solutions.
  • Communicate pricing changes effectively across all management levels, including daily updates and quarterly reviews.
  • Partner with Regional Vice Presidents and Sales Managers to gather business intelligence and provide data-driven regional price recommendations for commodities and large-ticket items.
  • Develop and streamline daily pricing processes through automation and share best practices with team members.
  • Maintain high availability and responsiveness to resolve pricing inquiries promptly.
  • Support integration of diverse skills within the team to enhance organizational culture and success.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports directly to the Pricing Director.
  • No direct reports; requires cross-functional collaboration with various management levels.

Travel Requirements

  • Periodic travel to coordinate with regional and branch managers on pricing strategies.

  • Primarily office-based activities requiring computer use, including prolonged sitting, manual dexterity for keyboard and mouse operation, and visual capacity to read complex spreadsheets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in pricing analytics, office automation, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions including VLOOKUP, multi-sheet management, Pivot Tables, and macros.
  • Experience with ERP systems and database management.
  • Strong skills in managing regional pricing differences and collaborating with sales leadership.
  • Effective communication skills across management levels.
  • Innovative problem-solving and continuous learning mindset.
  • Availability and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced quantitative analysis skills and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with strategic pricing initiatives, dynamic pricing, demand forecasting, competitive analysis, and market trend evaluation.
  • At least two years of experience in selling or pricing Tile, Hardscape, and Pool Finishes.
  • In-depth ERP system expertise related to pricing and costing data.
  • Leadership and collaboration skills to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Project management experience.
  • Financial acumen including profit and loss management.
  • Change management experience focused on continuous improvement.
  • Innovative problem-solving with emphasis on automation.
  • Industry knowledge in construction supply and landscape distribution.
  • Commitment to professional growth, teamwork, and customer focus.

Certifications

  • None required.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Pricing Professional, Certified Management Accountant, CFA, and advanced Excel or Microsoft Office certifications.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $61,200 to $79,500 annually, depending on factors such as position, location, education, training, and experience.
  • Eligibility for performance-based bonuses, commissions, profit-sharing, car allowance or automobile and fuel programs, and travel expense reimbursement.
