Registered Fund Administration, Associate Director

Overview

This role supports an outsourced Principal Financial Officer (PFO) and treasury services team, working with fund administration and fund accounting deliverables for multiple client relationships. You will serve as the primary reviewer for deliverables and as the day-to-day point of contact for a portfolio of clients across registered fund products, including mutual funds, ETFs, interval funds, tender offer funds, and closed-end funds.

Over time, there is potential for growth into a director-level position, including possible outsourced Treasurer responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary day-to-day contact for multiple fund clients, managing deliverables and deadlines across your client book
• Serve as the primary reviewer of fund administrator and fund accountant deliverables, escalating issues to Directors as needed
• Perform detailed analytical reviews of fund regulatory filings, including:
  • Forms N-CSR, N-PORT, N-CEN, 24F-2
  • 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K
  • Repurchase offers and annual prospectus updates
• Oversee fund expense administration activities
• Review fund income and capital gain distributions
• Review and maintain valuation schedules of private investments
• Prepare and coordinate materials for fund board meetings, valuation committee meetings, and disclosure control meetings related to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
• Coordinate external audit and tax processes on behalf of clients; serve as the main audit contact
• Build and maintain strong client and business partner relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration
• Train and mentor Associates by reviewing their work and providing day-to-day feedback
• Draft and maintain process procedures for recurring deliverables; keep client workflows, deadlines, and task status current in internal systems and tools
• Maintain knowledge of changing industry regulations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong preference for fund accounting, fund administration, or audit of registered fund products
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or a related field
• Demonstrated expertise in regulatory and compliance reporting for registered funds
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in financial and compliance documentation
• Proactive and resourceful; comfortable operating in a dynamic, high-growth environment
• Eagerness to learn and apply regulatory changes and industry best practices
• Collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to client service and team success

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting board materials, valuation committee/disclosure control meetings, or Sarbanes-Oxley-related deliverables

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $80,000 - $110,000
• Discretionary bonus compensation may be available (based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors)

Location & Work Model

• Hybrid preferred
• Candidates who can work out of the Denver office 2–3 days per week are preferred
• Remote employees located anywhere in the US may be considered with direct experience
• Some periodic travel to Denver will be expected for remote hires
