Remote Tax Manager - 160k-180k

Overview

Fully Remote Tax Manager position focused on Small Business and Pass-Through entities.

Location: 100% Remote (U.S.-based)

Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 annually

This role is with a growing boutique/midsized Accounting & Advisory firm that delivers high-quality Tax and Client Accounting Services to startups, entrepreneurs, and small businesses nationwide. The firm operates primarily as a remote team across the East Coast and Midwest, leveraging a modern, technology-driven platform.

Responsibilities

• Review complex tax returns including individual, partnership, S-Corp, and trust returns
• Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor
• Provide tax planning and consulting services across various industries
• Research and resolve federal and state tax issues
• Mentor and review work performed by staff and senior team members
• Manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate directly with firm leadership on client strategy

Requirements

• 5 to 8+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong experience with individual, business, and some trust taxation
• CPA or EA certification required
• Experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess or ProSystem fx preferred
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a low-ego, team-oriented environment
