Overview

This role is for a Fractional Risk Analyst who partners with growing companies to provide data-driven insights and foresight for high-stakes decision-making. The analyst will help evaluate financial exposure, stress-test portfolios, and quantify operational vulnerabilities to transform uncertainty into calculated strategy.

This position suits experienced quantitative analysts, risk modeling experts, or financial strategists interested in part-time, project-based, or advisory retainer work across multiple organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Aggregate and analyze historical and real-time data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential business exposures.
  • Build and run stress tests to evaluate organizational performance under adverse economic or operational scenarios.
  • Quantify risks by assigning financial or operational metrics to vulnerabilities to aid leadership in prioritizing mitigation.
  • Assess risk concentration within assets, clients, or business units to ensure adequate diversification.
  • Collaborate with department heads to design and implement actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Develop dynamic reporting frameworks and dashboards to provide executive leadership with ongoing views of the risk profile.
  • Monitor macroeconomic indicators, industry shifts, and market events that could impact strategic objectives.
  • Provide objective risk assessments on proposed capital expenditures, mergers, or major corporate initiatives before commitment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in risk management, quantitative analysis, or financial modeling within complex corporate environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and mathematical modeling techniques for forecasting probability and variance.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to link operational processes to financial outcomes and corporate strategy.
  • Commitment to unbiased, data-backed analysis, even when findings challenge optimistic assumptions.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex risk models into clear business implications for boards and executives.
  • High attention to detail when handling large datasets to avoid errors that could affect strategic decisions.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills to identify threats and mathematically determine efficient mitigation approaches.
