Overview
This safety-sensitive role supports commercial operations for the organization’s division plants. The Senior Commercial Analyst prepares quotations for relevant business units and provides data analysis to support the commercial group. The position partners with sales, customer service, operations, and legal to produce accurate, professional quotations and to assist with preparation of NDAs, LTAs, and other contracts.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quotations across relevant business units (HIP, HT, Surface Technology), working under the guidance of the Senior Commercial Manager, Commercial Managers, and Senior Commercial Analysts.
- Prepare quotations using a disciplined mathematical model based on established standards of costing, margin expectations, and competitive knowledge.
- Use Salesforce for accurate quote tracking and data management, ensuring high-quality data entry and attention to detail.
- Follow established procedures to develop pricing on various processes for plants, collaborating with the commercial team, sales, operations, and customer service as required.
- Assist with quote revisions as assigned by the Senior Commercial Manager or Director.
- Prepare and present meaningful metrics to sales and commercial management on a regular basis.
- Develop and deploy commercial reporting and forecasting as needed by the commercial team.
- Collaborate with customers and internal departments (including quality, customer service, order entry, billing, and accounts receivables) to resolve issues.
- Promote and practice teamwork across other plants and corporate staff.
- Work in a manner consistent with the EMS.
- Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by the position.
Qualifications
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
- 4 year college degree in Finance, Sales & Marketing, Metallurgy/Material Science or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1–3 years of quoting experience.
- Capable of interpreting blue prints and specifications.
- Proficient in oral and written communication to interface with top management levels, various plant personnel, and the sales team, with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Requires computer experience, specifically with Microsoft Office programs; CRM program experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic math and algebraic functions.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Physical & Mental Demands
- Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift 25–30 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
- Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
