Overview

This role supports a fast-growing, international business that operates and manages flexible accommodation properties across multiple cities and countries. The organization is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to help build and own key financial infrastructure and reporting processes.

This is not a traditional accounting-only position. You will work closely with founders and senior leadership, take ownership of critical financial processes, analyze performance across the business, and help improve profitability as the business scales.

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve day-to-day financial reporting and controls, ensuring management figures are complete, validated, and fully supported.
  • Identify manual and repetitive finance processes, design more efficient workflows, and partner with engineering teams to automate them.
  • Reconcile payments from Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, direct bookings, and other distribution channels, ensuring expected payments are received accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and incoming payments, ensuring expected funds are received, accurately recorded, and discrepancies are promptly resolved.
  • Track accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
  • Review supplier invoices and company expenses.
  • Manage statutory filings and corporate compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring submissions are accurate and completed on time.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisers, auditors, and banking partners to ensure accurate records and timely compliance.
  • Support landlord and property-owner financial statements as required.
  • Build dashboards and reporting systems to provide management with real-time visibility into performance.
  • Analyze financial performance by property, city, country, and business unit.
  • Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Monitor cash flow and help plan future capital requirements.
  • Identify financial risks and potential revenue leakage.
  • Analyze costs and identify opportunities to improve margins.
  • Partner with operations teams to understand and reduce property-level costs.
  • Support financial due diligence for acquisitions, investments, and new market launches.
  • Present insights and recommendations directly to founders and the management team.

Requirements

  • Highly analytical with strong comfort working with numbers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of financial and operational data.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong reconciliation, financial control, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial mindset—able to explain what the numbers mean for the business.
  • High level of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfortable working independently and figuring things out.
  • Able to operate in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with senior management.
  • Passion for technology, automation, and AI, including identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes.
  • Ambitious and looking to take on significantly more responsibility over time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in accounting, audit, investment banking, private equity, FP&A, consulting, hospitality, real estate, or a high-growth startup.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related analytical field (exceptional candidates from other backgrounds are encouraged to apply).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.

Location

  • Multi-city and multi-country operations across multiple jurisdictions (exact work location not specified in the description).

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

  • Built a strong understanding of the financial performance of every part of the business.
  • Created reliable monthly management reporting across the organization.
  • Ensured payments from booking platforms and partners are accurately reconciled and expected funds are received.
  • Improved visibility into cash flow, profitability, and unit economics.
  • Identified meaningful opportunities to reduce costs and increase margins.
  • Automated several previously manual finance processes.
  • Became a trusted financial partner to founders and management.
  • Took ownership of increasingly important parts of the finance function.

You Should Not Apply If

  • You are looking for a corporate 9-to-5 job with narrowly defined responsibilities.
  • You need someone to constantly tell you what to do.
  • You are uncomfortable being held accountable for your work.
  • You prefer reporting numbers rather than understanding and improving them.
  • You are political or enjoy gossiping or talking about people behind their backs.
  • You are looking for a stable, slow-moving, dead-end job.
  • You do not aim to become one of the best in the world at what you do.
